A couple of interesting things about Echo Lens:
All of the bass was done on the Volca Bass or Monotron Duo. What I do is run them into a chain of SP303+SP404+KP3 samplers, and with that sort of combination you can really just get something going.
I pretty much dipped into every instrument at least once along the way, just to keep things interesting along the recording process (2/7/15 through 8/29/15). Things were pretty fun with reverb and delays - and of course all of the drum machines are the most fun when you're using the samplers that I use. But really, all of these different instruments have uniquely varying designs and features. Making drum samples from the DR670 is completely different than the ER-1 for instance. But anyway…
Created at my place in Bellingham, WA and recorded on a Tascam 2488 mk1, please contact me for production music inquiries regarding film/media/brand applications and usage.
